The good thing about being out here, apart from the Challenge that comes from being on an Op tour, is that I have plenty of time to train for my next challange. Unfortunately the training I'm doing here at altitude will have warn off (red blood cell-wise) by the time I get to the Desert, but it's all good training. I'm at about 2300m here at the moment so initially it was quite a strain to just run a few miles. It's still hard work going up the mountains in the surrounding area, especailly with the added weight of the body armour!
I plan to run a half marathon with full Desert weight on my back by the time I get back to the UK, and then hopefully run the length of the Taff Trail in summer, that's about 50 miles, so a good test before the Sahara.
